It was a bug in OS X, and Apple refused to fix it for an entire version. Now that I've downgraded to Mavericks, the bug is still affecting me, so Apple refused to backport it as well. Now my biggest fear with the Wi-Fi and stability issues is that Apple won't address them until OS X 10.11. UPDATED GUIDE: This guide is not meant to be for everyone.
